Touhy

Name: Touhy

Date of Passing: 10/28/25

Message to Touhy: We said goodbye to our Touhy today. My tootsie, my toots, my handsome boy. We adopted a near senior boy and I am so thankful for the 9 years he gave us. I always said he was all the perks of a dog (social, played fetch, cuddly, came when you called him) and all the perks of a cat (indoors and low maintenance). He loved everyone he met, especially if you were “not a cat person”. He was also a very chatty boy who constantly meowed at us demanding love and attention and I made sure he got plenty of it. He was the best first pet to Gabi and Aubrie. So patient, loving, and always there to supervise bedtime and bath time. Gabi would tell people, “I have a brother. He’s a cat.” Aubrie gave him the biggest hugs and learned how to give gentle pets. I will miss waking up to him sleeping on my pillow, his “big stretch” when I prepared his breakfast, his meows, his constant cuddles, his little white paws, and his sweet eye blinks. We look forward to a lifetime of fondly remembering our time with the best best kitty. We love you, Touhy 🧡

Tell us about Touhy: My friend works at an animal shelter. I told her I was ready for a cat. I wanted him to be around 4 or 5 years old and would tolerate all my kisses. She found me a 7/8 year old boy who seemingly enjoyed my love and kisses. He was so affectionate with every person he met. His name was Andy at the shelter but we wanted something more Chicago. We rattled off options and I thought about the street Touhy Avenue and thought that would be a cute name!
