Message to Stitch: Stitchie, my handsome, my baby boy, you came into my life knowing how much I needed you. From the day you became a part of our family, you wanted to be as close as possible to me. You would fall asleep stuck to my side, under the covers. Yes, you tried to escape from the backyard so many times, but you were always so happy when we would find you and bring you back home. There is no way to show or words to describe how much you meant to us.

You were my constant companion, my walking buddy, you loved our trips to Target/TJMaxx, Home Depot. You were such an energetic little boy even as you got older. I wish I could take away the pain and suffering of the last few years. Every thunderstorm reminds of how you you hated those, every dog i see reminds me of how you loved your sniff walks, and it makes me sad that I cannot take those walks with you anymore. We miss you every single day and are so thankful that you gave us all the love and your trust to do the right thing by you. I didn't rescue you my baby, you rescued me.

Tell us about Stitch: My daughter Netra was going off to college and she didn't want me to be alone, so she decided that her mother needed a dog to keep her company. We knew we wanted to get a rescue dog, and we saw a picture of "Fritz" on the Kentucky Humane Society website. He looked a little crazy in the picture, and we knew then that we needed him. When we got to the center, we saw this skinny 9 lb dog just looking out of his cage to see if anyone would want to pet him. He had our hearts in that instant and we brought him home.

He didn't look like a "Fritz", so Netra named him Stitch from Lilo and Stitch. Stitch loved his squeaky toys, especially the hippo, he would get so excited to play with them, and then get mad when they didn't squeak sometimes. He loved people and loved taking walks and car rides. This little one never met a stranger, and he would always walk up to people and pets with a smiling face and a wagging tail.
