Tell us about Stella Bean:
13 years ago I walked into the shelter and asked to see the dog who had been there the longest. She was one and a half years old, and had been there almost ten months - most of her life, and she was a hot mess. Both of her back legs had been broken at some point, her ears were badly infected, and she had a bad infection from her spay, but she was so excited to get out of her kennel she broke the volunteer's glasses with her donkey zoomies. I had to take her home. She was my first adult dog, and was with me through so much. Just the most joyous, sweet, hilarious creature and we were so lucky to have had so much time with her. She took such good care of me when I was sick, and put a smile on our faces every day.

Stella was best friends with one of our cats, loved to pop balloons, snuggle, break into trash cans, and go for long walks until her body started to fail her. It was hard to let her go while she was still so her, but we spared her so much pain and a possible painful end alone. We'll miss you forever Bean. You were one in a billion.
