Message to Sestra: Sestra, you came to us during a sad time for our family. We had had many recent losses, people and kitties. You were pure light and love from the moment you came home. When you came upstairs for the first time, you found Mouchie in the hallway, who was in heart failure. You touched noses with him as if to say, I'm here now, you can relax, I can take over. You brought so much joy to everyone who met you! And you hated leaving the house! This was your world, and we loved you for it. Even at the end, you were purring, as if to say, it's all right, I will be fine and so will you. Thank you, Sestra. See you at the Bridge.
Tell us about Sestra: We knew it was time to bring in a new addition to our kitty family. We went to our favorite shelter, Tree House. We hung out in the kitten room, and our daughter sat down on the floor to play with the kittens. You came right over to her, climbed into her lap and started purring. It was quite clear, we'd been selected! Your name at the shelter was Sestra, an Eastern European word that means "sister." Since we were looking for a cat to be a sister/friend to our then-matriarch cat , the name stuck. You loved to be pulled around on a rug, loved all things string, and was an amazing mouser! Your favorite thing, though, was just to be nearby, keeping an eye on the comings and goings, grabbing a skritch now and again, just being part of the family. We miss you terribly.
