Sawyer

Name: Sawyer

Date of Passing: 09/19/2025

Message to Sawyer: On 09/19/2025 Mr. Sawyer walked through the gates. His fight with cancer was short, but he sure did have a beautiful 9 years with us. Most of the childhood we remember was with Mimi.

He loved giving his sister “love” bites through a blanket. He loved pulling on mom’s pants or robes, and barking at mom for being on the phone. He loved pawing at Dad for laying and watching a game. He especially loved barking for scraps on Thanksgiving or Christmas to the point where we had to make him his own plate😂 And he loved kitchen rags… or grabbing shoes when excited.

Playing in the snow, you could not shovel if Mimi was around. He loved playing with every single one of his toys. Sometimes he’d pull one out we haven’t seen in months!! He was so dramatic!! I wonder where he got that from… He loved hats, and taking photos.

He loved going „bye bye” which included going to Florida or Wisconsin. And he even loved hopping in the car for the vet or groomer, but getting out was a different story. Gosh he was stubborn!!

He was the smartest bilingual dog. Possibly too smart for his own good. He knew everything! Did I mention he was STUBBORN!! He was our greatest protector. He cared about us and our safety more than we probably acknowledged. Sawyer knew exactly what he wanted. He didn’t like when people were sad or angry, he also didn’t like when people danced! He would be devastated to see us crying or upset. Sweet Mis.

We will miss him more than anything. We will remember and speak of him until we can’t anymore. He was truly the greatest dog/brother/son. He was a part of our family. He was the dog who taught me how to care for a dog. He was a true lover.

We love and miss you, Mr. Sawyer/Mr. S/Sawyer/Mimi/Mis/Moose etc. Those who knew him knew he had a MILLION nicknames. And he went by every one of them❤ Till we see eachother again❤

Tell us about Sawyer: We got Sawyer from a breeder on the border of Indiana and Ohio. He was the first puppy to run up to us and bite on our shoe laces so we knew he was the one. Just two weeks later he made his first road trip to Florida from Chicago. He loved getting in the car to go to Florida. Especially after his two sisters moved there. He loved to play in the snow, go on car rides, sneak food off the counter and steal kitchen towels! He had a job, he was an inspector and he was the best at it. He was so amazing. We miss him so much. ♡
