Samantha

Message to Samantha: I know we all think our pets are the best but we are continually amazed at how this little dog managed to connect with those around her. Dog lover or not, she managed to get everyone to play and throw the ball for her. We could not imagine the joy this little animal has given us and those who came to know her. It is why saying goodbye has been so very hard. For 14 years outside of trips away from home, Samantha spent almost every waking hour with us. We took her shopping with us and for 8 years spent every day in the office with one of us.
Never replaceable and we will always hold the memories of you close to us. We hope you have your eyes back and are chasing balls in the after. Stay away from those fire ant hills and take a break to not overheat. I hope you are pain free and happy now!
Tell us about Samantha: Samantha came into our life on Black Friday in 2010. The moment they put her into my wife's arms, I knew it was game over and we were going home with her. Within a day she was potty trained and already had a penchant for chasing balls. Literally hours a day we took her to the park and threw the ball for her. She even was the ring bearer for our wedding.
The Japanese tourists that met her called her Sama-ko which roughly translates to Sama girl.
At 4 years of age she was diagnosed with cataracts at a young age. As a ball chaser we chose to have her cataracts removed and found a specialist to handle it. Unfortunately glaucoma came after and despite 4 drops 4 times a day and pressure checks monthly , she eventually had to have her eyes enucleated to relieve the pressure. Despite not being able to see, she would still chase the ball and find it at the park.
in 2019 Samantha took her first flight in first class flying out of Hawaii on Christmas Eve and arriving in Chicago on Christmas Day. It was almost 2 years ago that we noticed a lump on her leg. The Dr.s sent her to a specialist but the result was either amputate her leg or wait it out. We decided to wait it out until a few weeks back when the Vet told us there was nothing more.
