Message to Sachiko: Our wonderful Sachiko, she made our family complete.
Tell us about Sachiko: Sachi loved sniffing other dogs but would never, ever consent to being sniffed herself. Always the Alpha, always had to have things her way, always testing her place in the pecking order of our household.
Sachi loved car rides and hanging out of the window during them, going to the dog beach, and playing Fetch with her tennis balls. She loved dragging us to the pet store or local shop that handed out milkbones for her morning walk, 1.5 miles each way.
She particularly loved making us chase her around the coffee and dining room tables when it was time to put on her leash to go on a walk. When she was younger she took particular joy in scrambling beneath the sofa and playfully making us pull her out, nipping at my hand as I reached under and screaming her Shiba Scream as soon as I caught her.
She wasn’t always a very good dog - nipping children and passersby on the sidewalk! - but was the most wonderful, loyal and full-of-life girl we could have ever hoped for.
