Rita
Name: Rita
Date of Passing: 06/15/2024
Message to Rita: Rita was truly the sweetest soul. From the day I brought her home to the day she past. She was a spunky and fast pup who loved to play and chase other dogs. She was there from the day my son was born past the day he graduated high school. She was so loved that in the two homes we shared, we always had neighbors who came to get her while I was at work so she could hang with them and not be alone. We were bed partners, but she was no lap dog. She slept at one end of the bed and me at the other as neither of us liked to be disturbed when we slept. She was a good sleeper - I had to wake her up to go potty in the mornings. Since her passing, her BFF and downstairs neighbor Kit the Pit has chosen to spend more time with me upstairs as we are both feeling her loss. Rest in peace, sweet Rita. Thank you for 19 loving years. You are forever in my heart.
Tell us about Rita: I was married at the time I wanted a pup. My husband at the time did not want one so I had to trick him. We went to the 7 Mile Fair which is a flea market in Caledonia. I knew there would be pups. So we wandered the aisles and lo and behold, we saw puppies! I told him we had to go see them. I picked Rita up and handed her to him. She immediately started the clean out his ear and the rest was history - love at first lick.
