Riley

Message to Riley: In loving memory of Riley, an exceptionally stylish and photogenic Bichon Frise. Riley was adopted by his family at two-and-a half years old from a rescue after his first family could no longer care for him. As the family’s very first dog, he couldn’t have been a more perfect choice. His easygoing nature and loving spirit fit seamlessly into his new circle, bringing joy to everyone he met.

Riley may not have realized it at first, but he had joined an extremely artistic and theatrical family. Dressed in colorful bandanas, he was quickly cast as a supporting actor and occasional musician in the many home productions created by his siblings. Not much of a barker, Riley was content to play his part quietly, happy to let others take center stage. His favorite rewards were hours of racquetball in the basement—the sound of the ball hitting the wall was pure joy—and one cherished panda stuffie, initially stolen from (and later graciously given by) his sister.

Riley’s years were filled with love, laughter, creativity and adventure. When he was diagnosed with lung cancer 18 months ago, his family was heartbroken. Yet Riley’s strength and spirit carried him far beyond expectations, giving his loved ones precious time for the long goodbye. When he finally grew tired, he passed peacefully at home, gracefully exiting the stage, embraced by the parents who adored him. Rest in peace, beloved Riley.
