Message to Otis: Otis might have looked tough, but he was the sweetest, gentlest and most sensitive guy. He thrived to please which made him the easiest and most eager to train of all of our dogs. He loved his walks and insisted on routine. He would get very frustrated when he had to wait too long for his beloved walk. He was an amazing brother to our 2 daughters who joined our family years after we welcomed him. He was so patient with them. He always kept an eye on what was going on in our backyard which got him sprayed by skunks a couple of times. There was nothing he loved more than sunbathing. He was not a friend of Chicago winters. He was a loud snorer, loved belly rubs and bully sticks.
Tell us about Otis: Otis was a stray in Nashville along with a chihuahua. A lady who had been trying to get the two was finally able to get him into her car, unfortunately the chihuahua wouldn't get in. We fostered Otis who had severe demodectic mange and decided to adopt him because of his sweet nature which he didn't share with other dogs. He turned out to be pretty aggressive towards other dogs on our walks and it would have been hard to get him adopted by the rescue.
