Mr. Coffee

Name: Mr. Coffee

Date of Passing: 07/08/2024

Message to Mr. Coffee: My sweet boy Mr. Coffee. Your dad knew what he was doing when he introduced me to you, because I fell in love with you both. I miss you sticking out your tongue when you sleep, your kisses when I was sad, your whining when you wanted attention, your cuddles on the bed, our cart rides together, your dancing feet when you were dreaming. You were the most gentle giant, a true Velcro baby. You were so sweet and kind to anyone you met.

Losing you feels like I'm losing a part of myself. Without you the days feel emptier, the house feels quieter, and my heart aches. We couldn't stand to see you in pain. When you started refusing your favorite thing in the world, peanut butter, we knew it was time. We can see you were tired, and you fought so hard my baby. We're so happy you got to spend your last day with you at home surrounded by family.

Thank you to a gentle goodbye team and Dr. Sam for making his last moments at home so peaceful.

Tell us about Mr. Coffee: Mr. Coffee lived in the south side of Chicago and had a sister named Cappuccino. They were both found and confiscated by police during a house raid on 1/28/2013. We don't know what happened to his sister, but his name fits him perfectly as his coat is a dark brown coffee color. He got the official Mr. Coffee title when he got adopted because he's a well honored respected gentleman. He stayed a week at Chicago Animal Care and was quickly taken by his foster parents at Be Fido's Friend. Coffee was adopted by his dad, Elvis.

The moment Elvis laid eyes on Mr. Coffee's picture online, he knew it was his soul dog. When Elvis met the foster parents, Mr. Coffee didn't like that Elvis was standing too close to his foster mom so he lunged at him. Elvis didn't care; he wasn't scared of him, this didn't change his mind one bit. The whole family fell in love with Mr. Coffee very quickly. His sweet, gentle temperament made him a great companion to have. His favorite thing to do was go under a nice comfy blanket and cuddle next to someone. He was loved by everyone, the best dog anyone could ever ask for.
