Message to Mocha: It is hard to put into words everything Mocha has meant to our family. She brought us so much joy and laughs, and her memories continue to provide us comfort. Mocha was a beautiful dog and also had a beautiful soul and personality. Also called "Moch," "Mochie," and "Baby" by her family, Mocha looked like a bear or lion, and her golden eyes looking up at you could provide calm and make you feel at peace. She loved her family and her dog pack, which, as stated in the story of her, consisted of Pooh, Aggie, Java, Cocoa, and Marble. She loved chewing bones and being outside. She has made such an impact on our family, her family, for close to 13 years. Mocha--we love you so much and miss you a ton. Thank you for joining our family all those years ago. We hope, wherever you are, that you are surrounded by family members (humans and animals) we have lost, and that you are brushing up against clothes in the closet, chewing your favorite bones, rolling around in the grass and talking, and getting to enjoy "Mocha Days." You deserve everything wonderful and great because you have been that and more. We love you.
Tell us about Mocha: Our family was lucky enough to rescue Mocha when she was 12 weeks old. She was a very cute puppy, and a line of people formed behind us, waiting to adopt Mocha if we decided she was not a good fit. We quickly fell in love with her and adopted her that day. Our family named her "Mocha" because of her coat color, and we liked the name. Her name actually started a trend of naming our rescue dogs after cafe beverages. As a puppy, Mocha loved waking up and going down her boy's shoulder and arm to get off the bed, and she loved snuggling in a towel after a bath. Mocha loved chewing bones, being outside, and spending time with her family and dog pack (at different times, the dog pack consisted of Pooh, Aggie, Java, Cocoa, and Marble). She loved brushing up against her dad's clothes in the closet and visiting the Lake Forest College campus with her girl. She did not always enjoy walks and loved to frustrate her family by deciding to plop down in the middle of the street or on the sidewalk and refuse to move. She had a mind of her own and was always a good girl. She loved not just her immediate family, but also her extended one. Her golden eyes looking up at you could put you at ease and make you feel loved.
