Midnight

Message to Midnight: Our sweet Midnight girl was such a strong and sensitive spirit. Nicknamed "The Watcher," she was our family sentinel, always tuned in to the energy (and smells!) around her. She was so joyful, so soft, so present. We learned so much from her and miss her earthly presence every day.
Tell us about Midnight: Midnight was found on the streets of Suffolk, Virginia. I first saw her hunched in a concrete cell at Animal Control. The minute we locked eyes I knew she was coming home with me. She was a beautiful, black-haired border collie. Skinny and shy, but oh so affectionate. Over the next few months her personality evolved as she began to understand that she was safe, she was home, and she was so so loved. She was adopted with a beagle sister (Dexy) and they were named in honor of the group "Dexy's Midnight Runners". We had almost 15 years together, and it still wasn't enough time. Her favorite things to do include barking at the neighbor across the street, barking at the cars ON the street, and early afternoon naps on the bed (she was always SO excited to see me pull back the covers and LEAPED up to join me!) She never turned down a chance to sit outside - she loved to watch the world. She saw me through heartbreak, grief, and profound loss, always next to me, always teaching me to be present, and to never, ever forget joy. Run free our Midnight girl - we miss you so, but we will find you in the sunshine.
