Message to Marcel: Marcel was truly an extraordinary creature. He was charismatic; mischievous; intelligent; and very, very silly. He may not have lived for as long as we hoped, but he filled our hearts with an eternity of love and joy.
Tell us about Marcel: We welcomed Marcel into our family when he was a year old. We were very lucky, because he was adopted and returned twice before finding his forever home with us. He was a very attractive cat with his bunny-soft white fur and gray spots, but he had a lot of personality packed into a cat-sized package, which some people must not have understood... But that's exactly why we love him. He had not a single hair that we would have rearranged.
Oh, how we adored Marcel!
His favorite thing in the world was to tiptoe around the backyard, stomping on bugs, chasing falling leaves, and waiting for the chipmunk to emerge from under the deck.
And what a silly goofball he was.
He liked to play after dinner, chasing us around the living room and pouncing on unsuspecting feet.
He was quite a social cat. Whenever he heard people talking, he would join the conversation by placing himself in the middle of the room before showing off his monkey skills. Even if he was napping, he would wake up, all squinty-eyed, to see what was going on.
He was quite particular about things. If he thought your hand was dirty, he would immediately wash his fur after being pet. He would swat things off the table if they didn't belong. He would yodel in the hallway if he didn't have a playmate.
His favorite words were "outside," "tuna," "dinner," "mommy," and "night-night."
He loved to be kissed on top of his soft little head, and scratched on the "pet-me" spot where his tail met his back.
He was so loved. And he loved us back.
