Mack

Name: Mack

Date of Passing: 08/04/2024

Message to Mack: Mack was a beloved part of our family since he was adopted in 2010. He loved walks, especially near Lake Michigan, and was always ready to eat. We'll miss him terribly!

Tell us about Mack: Mack was rescued by RobDar's Houndsong Rescue from a pound in southern Illinois. He was already fully grown when we adopted him in 2010. He may have had a hard life, because he was a fearful pup at first. There are some fears he never completely lost, like fear of going into the vet's office (though he had great vets). But he came out of his shell over time and was a great companion. When he was young he loved to chase rabbits like a real hound, although later in life he mostly ignored them. When we both had to work, or had to go out of town, he also loved daycare or boarding at his local hangout, Bark Place (in Rogers Park, Chicago). During the pandemic shutdown, he was a constant companion for Ken in particular. Arthritis and some nerve damage gradually slowed him down during his last couple of years, and we're grateful to A Gentle Goodbye for helping us to say goodbye to him peacefully at home.
