Message to Jewel: Jewel. Jewel was special from the very beginning. Before she could open her eyes she was chosen. She never had to question if she was wanted. She was born into a family who cared for her instantly. Out of the whole liter, she was the one who never had to ask where she belonged. All she ever knew was us. From birth to death, we loved Jewel. We were so lucky to know her on such a deep level, and in return she gave us so much love and joy. She was there through good times and hard times. Sun, storms, snow, rain, and shine and she always had the sweetest smile on her face. She was the sassiest, funniest, most loving girl you could ever know. Her personality was huge, and she gave us more love than we could ever ask for. She never had to search for her people. They were there before she even knew what the world was. She was wanted before she was chosen. Loved before she was taken home. Protected before she ever knew what fear was. Her life began with family. The same hands that held her as a baby held her until the very end. She wasn’t just our dog. She was our baby. She showed us hope, love, and luck. She learned what family was and what the world felt like when it’s filled with love. In every cuddle, in every moment, good or bad, she knew she mattered. In the end, she didn’t leave this world in fear. She left it surrounded by the people she trusted most. 💜
Tell us about Jewel: Our sister in law fostered a pregnant dog and Jewel was part of the litter. We saw her the day she was born. She has a brown gem shaped spot on her head so we named her Jewel. Her favorite things to do was exploring our yard, finding a good sun spot on the floor, looking out the window and cuddling with us. Jewel had a favorite spot on the sofa so that if someone walked by we would give her some pats on the head. She also loved looking out the window. Jewel was a gentle, sweet, loving, and caring dog. She was always there to make you happy and greet you with a smile and big tail wag. She knew if you were sad and down and would give you extra love to take the pain away. Although she would be quick to let you know when she wanted the food you had! Jewel had such a huge sassy personality. She always made us laugh. We will miss her so much and will always love her.
