Francie

Name: Francie

Date of Passing: 08/25/24

Message to Francie: In loving memory of my sweet Francie Louisa, from Lousia, Kentucky May 27, 2016-August 25, 2024

Tell us about Francie: Francie was the kindest, most gentle, and grateful tender soul. She appreciated anything I gave her and was the most patient dog I have ever known. She only wanted to be with me. I am very lucky and thankful to have a job that allowed me to spend most, if not all, of my time with her, and she was my steady companion and source of great comfort. Francie loved to be with me. She loved to walk with her friends to sit by the lake, and she loved food. Francie has taught me to slow down, be more grateful and patient, and find joy in every moment, even when sick. To take life in fully, find joy in everything you do, and stop to smell every flower, preferably pink. And most importantly, she's taught me forgiveness. Francie had a rough year, with life-saving surgeries and many ailments, but even in her deepest struggles, she always found a way to be genuinely joyful. She was so strong. I am so grateful for Gentle Goodbyes. Francie had some chaotic ER visits, and the last thing I wanted was her passing to be traumatic or terrifying. Dr Sara and her team got back to me immediately and explained everything in advance. Dr Sara was so attentive, compassionate, and kind to Francie. She took to meet her, sit with us, and listen to stories about Francie's life. Dr Sara assured me that my decision was right and made the process peaceful and beautiful. All I ever wanted was to be with my girl when she passed, for her to see me, to hear me tell her I loved her, that I was grateful for her, and what a good girl she was. It is a blessing to look your dog in the eye and hold them as they pass. Francie had a normal, stress-free day at home. Family and friends came to say goodbye, and she got lots of food and cuddles. Francie was casually resting in her bed when Dr. Sara arrived. I could not have asked for a more peaceful outcome. I never felt rushed, and being able to be with my dog until the end was, in a way, healing. Francie deserved a dignified, peaceful, undisturbed passing. It was reverent. It takes a special person to do what Dr. Sara does. I am very grateful to her and to Gentle Goodbyes. I highly recommend in-home euthanasia if you can do so. It is the greatest gift you can ever give your pet. Francie is profoundly missed. Warmly, Gina Saka
