Message to Chester: In loving memory of Chester, a beautiful 12-year-old Pomeranian. Chester came into his mom’s life as a young adult through rescue and bonded with her immediately. From the very beginning, he was a total mamma’s boy. Her lap was his safe place, his comfort, his home.
Chester had standards. He didn’t give his heart away lightly—you had to earn his trust and prove yourself worthy. But once you did, you were in. He eventually accepted Dad when he came along a few years later, on Chester’s terms, of course, and in a way that felt uniquely his own. One of the most special bonds they shared was music. Chester loved classical music, and when Dad composed, Chester would sit nearby and listen, quietly present, as if he understood every note.
He was social… from a distance. Chester loved being part of things without necessarily being in things. During block parties, he’d wander the neighborhood, observing the world, taking it all in, content to be seen and to see. He carried a quiet confidence, an independence paired with deep loyalty to his people.
And yes, Chester could be grumpy. He could grumble. He had opinions, and he made sure they were known. But that was part of his charm. He was honest, expressive, and completely himself. He never pretended to be anything he wasn’t, and the people he loved always knew they were loved.
Chester lived a life filled with love, music, warmth, and belonging. He knew he was cherished. And when it was time to go, he did so peacefully, exactly where he wanted to be: on Mom’s lap, safe, loved, and home.
Rest in peace, beloved Chester.
Tell us about Chester: Chester’s name was originally CeeLo but we quickly decided that Chester would be much better to match his humorous personality!
