Chai
Date of Passing: 11/08/2025
Message to Chai: We hope the last 48 hours together was the best time you ever had — a nice long “walk” in the sun before this snow hit, Michelin star meals in your mind (she got to enjoy a burger, filet mignon, McDonald’s breakfast, and a Costco hotdog w/ vanilla ice cream & a chocolate chunk cookie), a little spa moment, & so many hugs/kisses.
We spent your last 48 hours all together in our own little world.
& for 15 years you were there for so many chapters for us. Still remember the day we got to go with to pick you up, when you were still “Millie” before “Chai.” While first timers to seeing you may think you’re a meanie, you were actually the sweetest (& so very photogenic). Even when you had to start sharing your space with Bo, then Bear, you didn’t mind. You loved your afternoon naps, being nosy to what was on the counter, and loved being wherever the party was. You didn’t stop trying to live even if your body couldn’t anymore. Thank you for loving us, Chai. ♥ You rest now (& say hi to Bo for us). 🌈🐶🪽
Tell us about Chai: When Chai was around 4 years old, we had gotten our second dog, Bo, a Rottweiler pup. Chai was definitely curious of him (probably a bit confused as to why this new little thing was in her space now), but she ended up treating him as her little brother or one of her own. We all vividly remember Bo was playing with a toy rope on one end (still so much tinier than her), and Chai decided to play a little tug-o-war with him on the other end, dragging him across the living room floor. One of us told her, “Watch out, Chai, he’s gonna be bigger than you one day and he may remember what you’re doing to him!” Fast forward a couple years later, and they found themselves at another round of tug-o-war, but this time Bo was twice her size pulling her across the floor this time—we told her so! They grew up together until Bo’s passing, but it’s comforting to know that they’re reunited once again and surely trying to see who could win at tug-o-war.
