Big
Date of Passing: 03/22/2026
Message to Big: Big was such a sweet, spunky and playful boy. Before his diagnosis, he would prance all up and down our fence like chasing squirrels. We used to call him our show dog because he had the most perfect prance. After his diagnosis, he fought so hard and remained the stubborn little guy so focused on being with us and being included. We are better humans because of him and I am going to miss his sweet face for the rest of my life. Rest easy sweet boy - you deserve it.
Tell us about Big: Big had a sob story I couldn’t scroll past. The rescue asked for an urgent but temporary (2 weeks) foster because Big was picked up as a stray and refused to leave the kennel he was in or eat. I promised my husband that it would only be the two weeks, but five months later both of us were convinced we needed to adopt him - mind you we had two other dogs already.
Big was a force to be reckoned with the entire time. Spunky, stubborn, with the howl of a husky and the prance of a first in show show dog. He didn’t deserve his diagnosis but fought every day to overcome it and we lucked out with 2 more years than they told us we would likely get. Big loved chasing squirrels, playing with toys, and once if you were lucky enough to gain his trust, any form of snuggling.
