Message to Bert: Bert, we love you so much. You’ve given us so many smiles chasing string, hunting little bugs, walking on railings and climbing to the highest spots just to watch the world from above. You always found the warmest sunshine — whether it was stretched out on the balcony or curled up inside by the window — and the best places to be close, on my lap in the afternoon or high on my chest at the end of the night. You made tuna juice and Temptations treats into a feast, and our home into a happier place. Thank you for every purr, every cuddle, and every moment you shared with us. You’ll always be our brave, funny, perched high up girl, and you’ll always be part of our family. We love you, Bert.

Tell us about Bert: We got her in France from a free adoption agency with her littermate. At first, because of a language issue, we thought both cats were boys so we named them after a childhood 2xmale combo- Bert and Ernie. Then, weeks later, the vet told us Bert was a girl, but Ernie already came and recognized his name, so it stuck and we just called her Bertramina and Bert for short. She loved walking on railings high up, getting on top of the cabinets, playing crinkle ball and string, and napping in the sun. She also later in life loved snuggling on our lap promptly at 3pm every day while working from home during the pandemic and remotely after, as well as high up on our chests later at night on the couch.
