Message to Aarghi: Aarghi was a best friend, a protector and my Big Guy!
Tell us about Aarghi: My wife and I had a 5 year old German Shephard female. We decided that we wanted to foster through a GSD Rescue. We swore we would not fail. Our first foster was to be a 2-3 year old male that had been bouncing around rescues in Southern Illinois. We went to pick him up at a vet clinic for our first meeting. Out walks this goofy, maybe 1 year old pup with huge ears and feet. We failed almost immediately. His name was Arie. We decided to reach out to friends for a new name and came up with Aargh as in "what does a Pirate say". That turned into Aarghi. He spent years being tormented by his alpha sister but quietly endured it. He was a 100 pound gentle giant that only wanted to be close to and protect his family. Aargh was the best dog. Aargh suffered from Lupus and eventually Degenerative Myelopathy. As his back legs failed and he could not go upstairs to sleep near us it was time to let him go.
