Our 11-year-old dog Belle was a beloved member of our family, who will be missed by all.

Tell us about Belle:
Our 11-year-old mixed hound Belle began to have seizures in September. After consulting with our vet, we decided to treat them medicinally, and for three months the medication was able to control the seizures.

Unfortunately, the seizures returned, and it became clear that the medication had stopped working. Throughout December 20 and 21, she experienced seizures every few hours. Where she had recovered back to almost normal in the past, this time each episode weakened her more and more.

After making the agonizing decision to end her suffering, we contacted A Gentle Goodbye, who were able to schedule us the same day, on a Sunday, and sent Dr. Libby to take care of us.

Belle passed away peacefully in the comfort of our living room, on the floor of the place she called home. Dr. Libby was nothing less than amazing — caring, compassionate, and professional — and even gave our five family members a hug at the end.

I highly recommend A Gentle Goodbye to anyone who has to go through the difficulty of putting a pet to rest.
