Message to Katze: Our beloved Katze, our first baby. Thank you for choosing us. It was an honor to watch you simultaneously soften and rule the house over our years together. It hurts so much to not have you here, but I take it as proof of how much you meant to our family and the permanence of your imprint on our hearts. We love you, Baby Katze.
Tell us about Katze: Katze came into our lives via an adoption event at The Anti Cruelty society. She captured our hearts when, on first meeting, when she immediately, sweetly snuggled in, then just as quickly clawed and “bunny kicked” with a ferocity surprising for her little frame. She was lovely, snuggly, spicy, and decidedly weird. It took 3 vet techs and heavy duty protection gloves to get her up to date on vaccines and then finally into the cardboard carrier. She nearly tore her way out of it in the back of the cab on the way home. We knew her given name of “Kitty” didn’t seem to fit her personality, but Katze (German for ‘cat’) felt like a good compromise.
She never knew a stranger and was always happy to have visitors and an unwitting victim to the trickery of a belly rub invitation. She was mama’s girl, loved a lap nap, and would faithfully sleep at the foot of the bed every night. She was naughty, a fan of any snack, and had the most beautiful, delicate little mew, despite being a ferocious beast. She was our “Stink,” our “Little Butt,” our sweet baby girl.
