Message to Willow: Recently, we had to say goodbye to a beloved family member. Willow has been suffering with symptoms of a tumor which ultimately took her sight and most of her awareness of the world. We were fortunate to find a vet who helped us say goodbye in peace at home with her surrounded by her family. We were so lucky to have her for 11 years. She has always been a sweet mama to her kitties, other dogs and human babies. She was the best big sister to our toddler we ever could have imagined.
We are so glad she isn't suffering anymore but we will miss her greatly. She was always the center of any party and love to sit in the middle of a group of people like it was all about her. She was with me through two interstate moves, our marriage in 2018, the loss of our first son and welcoming our second son home and everything in-between. Willow is proof that you never know what a dog will be like from how they act at a shelter. I took a chance on the very sick and scared dog who just had her puppies removed. In return I got an incredible friend.
Tell us about Willow: Willow was a street dog in New Mexico in 2015. She was found with 3 young puppies. She had kennel cough and came to me very full of milk from the babies who went home before her. I came to an adoption event to meet her and she sat as far away from me as she could. She was just so sad, I couldn't leave her. I wasn't sure it was the right decision until I got her home. She immediately claimed the couch and has been my friend for 11 yrs.
