Message to Veruca Salt: Sometimes, in animals, same as in humans, spirit runs so strong that the body has no choice but to obey. Veruca was one of those. To the last moment, until the very end, intelligent, playful, talkative, and clearly knowing who is who and what is what. She trusted us to take care of her, and in return she gifted us with being there for us, purring us to sleep, mewing whenever someone would approach her, nightly sitting on my leg, hanging her paws down like a lemur on a tree branch. Her passing left a void that would be very hard to fill.
Tell us about Veruca Salt: My wife got Veruca 15 years ago. Because she was declawed, very quickly she had to be isolated into the master bedroom, she did not get along with other cats. She became a Queen of the Master Bedroom domain and ruled it wisely ever since. She loved playing with strings and for many years her favorite toy was a small monkey. She played with it until the very end.
