Message to Sascha: Sascha was our heart. She was loyal, sweet, protective, and was always by our sides. Our house is so quiet and empty without her. We miss her barking when we walk through the door. We miss watching her play with our children. We miss watching her run around the yard, chasing birds. We miss our car rides. We miss our nights laying on the couch together. We miss you so much Sascha, but we know you are in a better place now, chasing the birds again and watching over us.
Tell us about Sascha: My husband surprised me with her on my birthday and I couldn’t be happier. My husband and I wanted a strong, beautiful name for her, so we agreed to name her Sascha. Sascha means strength, bravery, and protection, which was perfect for her. She was energetic right from the start. She loved running around the yard with our children and chasing birds. During movie nights she would get cozy on the couch with the kids. One of her favorite things to do was check on the kids after they went to sleep. This was a ritual to her. She would go room to room to ensure they were safe. Another one of her favorite things were car rides. You couldn’t say “ride” without her perking right up and heading to the door. As she got older and had less mobility, I would take her outside, and she would just lay in the sun. The sun was definitely one of her favorite things. Before she passed we made her favorite treats: chicken, turkey with peanut butter, and a pup cup from Starbucks. She was so smiley that day, I will never forget it.
