Message to Pepper: Pepper always greeted people she met as if they were long lost friends. She was always in search of treats and was willing to perform her best tricks to get a treat. She loved a cozy, fluffy bed or couch to lay on and enjoyed looking out the window and getting excited when she would hear one of our cars pull up in front of the house so that she could bark loudly and run to the door to greet us. She loved to take a long walk and sniff out all the scents in the neighborhood knowing that when we returned, she would be able to stand at the cabinet and wait for her just reward of more treats. 🙂 Don't ask her to run through a sprinkler though because water and swimming was not her forte. Her tail was always in perpetual motion often smacking our legs with excitement of whoever was entering the house that she could welcome with one of her toys ready to gift it to you. We miss your smile Pepper and your boundless energy even when your body started to slow down. We hope you are enjoying lots of fields to run through, with balls to chase and treats to eat across the rainbow bridge. We will love you and miss you forever.....the house is so empty without you.
Tell us about Pepper: Pepper, our black Labrador lived a much too short 12 and a half years. We adopted Pepper at one year old from a local rescue after seeing her photo on their Facebook page. She had the best smile! Our previous dog was also a rescue, and her name was Ginger so we decided to go with the name "Pepper" deciding that she would be another of our "spice girls". We later learned that she was previously adopted by another family who thought she had too much energy from our veterinarian office and then given to the rescue we got her from. When we took her back to the same vet for a checkup, it was like she was home again. Dr. Heneghan was her forever friend, and she greeted her at every vet visit like a long-lost friend. Pepper loved a good chew toy and whenever someone came home, she would run to grab one of her many toys to bring it to you when she greeted you at the door. She loved climbing up on the sofa and taking a long nap or climbing up in her bed or chair and gazing out the window and watching the neighborhood. She wasn't a fan of cats and rabbits and often barked at them if they decided to walk in front of the house or cross her path. Pepper, we are so glad that you waited and chose us to be your family. You brought such joy and happiness to us, and we are forever grateful for your warm spirit, energy and love.
