Orion

Message to Orion: He was the sweetest, he guarded us from the squirrels. He loved the milkman and, ironically, the mailman too. Most of all he LOVED hugs, cuddles, and pets, often gently taking your hand in his mouth to guide it to where he wants to be pet. He didn't know he was 100 lbs and would lay on top of us or sit on our laps. One of his favorite things to do was to help me cook dinner, never begging for the food just watching.
Tell us about Orion: Orion came to us through Underdog Railway Rescue in Elmhurst, IL with his Littermate Pyxis they were 2 1/2 when we adopted them the day after the stay-at-home order in March 2020. They came from a home with zero training, structure, or socialization. we worked so hard to give them the best chance they could have at life, especially through their reactivity.
Orion learned how to walk on a leash, sit, stay, come, pretty, wave, paw, settle, and rollover. He for sure needed to be the "king" of the house and he fit the role perfectly with his regal stature. He was actually given the name Orion by the rescue and we loved it so we kept it, previous to the rescue his name was Oreo. He wasn't entirely fond of other dogs but in the last 6 months, he was starting to change.
One recent story that impressed me was that a few days after his diagnosis, we got home from visiting family and when we let him into the backyard he bolted and caught a RABBIT! Even though he was sick he didn't let it slow him down.
