Message to Mollie: To our sweet and snuggly Mollie girl, may you run around and sunbathe as much as your heart desires in Doggie Heaven. Thank you for being our family’s soul dog and enriching our lives with so much love, light, laughter and joy. You will forever be in our hearts.
Tell us about Mollie: Mollie chose her dad as a young pup of 10 weeks. Her brothers and sisters were all running around and she ran right up to her dad who scooped her up and she gave him a sniff, kiss then exhaled deeply as she melted into his neck. She became our family dog that day and got to meet her older brother, Blake. She was so very special with ears that made her especially adorable — one stuck straight up and the other flopped. She also had a unique tail that wagged up and down and a beautiful white patch on her chest that she loved when anyone would pet it. Her favorite things were sunbathing, rolling in the grass, playing fetch, chewing on sticks, giving lots of kisses, getting lots of pets and tummy rubs, chest scratches and ear rubs and massages, eating all the treats (especially off a lick mat, her pupsicle and her sniffle mat) and going for walks to explore the neighborhood and nearby ponds. She loved nothing more than being curled up and snuggling her favorite humans. She protected us fiercely and we could not have asked for a better dog to bring our two babies home to. She was always patient and loving towards her human siblings. Her human brother would make her a bed with his special blanket, his special stuffy and her favorite toys before he left for school each day and soon, her human sister added her special blanket and her favorite stuffy as well. Mollie would often be found either snuggling on their blankets or in our library on her favorite couch and blanket. She would often find the sunniest spots in the house and sunbathe inside even on cold winter days. She loved being by held by her dad like a baby and she loved snuggling up belly up with her mom on the couch. She also loved having play dates with her BMF (Best Mollie Friend), Momma and even had one heck of a 11th birthday party where both pups got their own cheeseburger cake! Mollie was so very loved by everyone who met her. Bone cancer may have taken one of her arms from her but it never took away her fighting spirit. She stayed with us fighting for 11 months after her diagnosis, far longer than we were told we’d have with her. She loved us fiercely all the way until the end and she passed peacefully in our home in her favorite room on her favorite blankets surrounded and snuggled by those who loved her the most. She was our family’s soul dog.
