Max (Moose)
Name: Max (Moose)
Date of Passing: 05/12/2024
Message to Max (Moose): Thank you Max, Moose, for giving me eleven wonderful years. You brought so much joy and comfort to my life, and there will never be another soul like you. I miss your beautiful deep voice, your cuddles, and your habits - yes, even the annoying ones. You were truly a special dog.
Tell us about Max (Moose): Max came to live with me eleven years ago, along with his sister. The two of them came from a rescue specializing in German Shepherds. Max arrived sick, with heartworms and Giardia, and had never had a family before. He didn't know about being indoors, having toys, or being loved. It was a lot of work to get him acclimated to living with a family, but once that tough outer shell cracked, I discovered that he was an extremely sweet, intelligent, and loyal dog.
Max had two names: Max, his official business name, and Moose, his casual party name. "Max" was for when he was out and about, but "Moose" was what I mostly called him at home, when he could let his guard down and relax.
Moose's favorite thing in the whole world was his green ball. I got lucky and found one that could hold up to his abuse, so I always kept a bonus one in reserve. He loved to chew on the ball, play catch and fetch, and roll it around on the floor using his hand. He was a pretty clever boy.
