Message to Koukla: All good dogs go to heaven.
Tell us about Koukla : Koukla was given to me as an 8 week old rescue by our son Dean to replace the family dog he was taking with him to his new home. Koukla was named by my mother who, not a dog lover, embraced her and said, in Greek, "Oh what a koukla." Koukla is Greek for loving doll. I spent 2-3 months housebreaking and training Koukla, who caught on quickly. She never barked except at passers by. We went daily on 2 mile walks about the neighborhood many times visiting my wife's first floor classroom disrupting the class by peering into the windows. Koukla liked to listen to classical music, ate most anything which I "dropped" on the floor, never climbed on furniture and left hair everywhere. She was extremely shy but carefully sought attention. She was given to me on my 59th birthday and died 3 days after my 73rd birthday 14 years later. I still look about for her. We miss her.
