Gianna
Name: Gianna
Date of Passing: 07/15/2022
Message to Gianna: My sweet little Gianna. This place will never be the same without you. When you left that day, you took a piece of my heart with you. I will always say goodnight to you, because I believe you’re still there and can hear me. I’m so sorry that you couldn’t live longer, God knows I would have done anything to make you live here longer with me and Chip. You are so loved and always will be. I cannot wait to see you again one day. I love you with all of my being.
Tell us about Gianna: I adopted Gianna when she was thought to be 1.5 years old. She had been rescued in Chicago and was in foster care where she birthed 4 puppies! After her puppies were ready for adoption, she was able to be spayed and put up for adoption as well. I found her online and knew I had to meet her. She came over for a home visit with her foster dad and as soon as she laid her head on my lap, I knew we needed each other. She picked me and I picked her. I named her Gianna, because it means ‘God is gracious’. It seemed so fitting for her little life and her background. She had many names that I called her: Gianna, GiGi, G, stinky, baby girl, etc. She was never a cuddler, but loved being in the same room as you. She loved her walks and getting all the gossip around the neighborhood. She could sniff one spot for 10 minutes! She wasn’t much of a dog’s dog. She much rather be around people. She loved to burrow under blankets and find the softest pillows to nap on. She hated when I dressed her up, but tolerated it. She even let little kiddos pull at her hair without complaining. She wouldn’t hurt a fly. She was never aggressive, only loving and shy. She loved her treats too! But her biggest addiction was peanut butter and chocolate. She got herself into trouble at times, but always survived. I always thought she would get sick and she never did. She’s always kept me on my toes and kept me laughing. She never was one to play with toys. I swear she was more human than dog. She made the best companion and will forever be missed.
