Floyd

Name: Floyd

Date of Passing: 06/29/2026

Message to Floyd: It's been a few days since we said goodbye to our silly little fur baby Floyd, and our home feels so much quieter without him. We miss him more than words can express. We miss the familiar jingle of his collar as he happily ran to the kitchen every time he heard one of us in there, hoping for a snack. We miss the excitement of being greeted at the door, his little nub of a tail wagging as if we'd been gone forever. No matter what kind of day we'd had, Floyd had a way of making all the little worries go away. He truly calmed our souls. I miss his sweet doggie kisses as he covered my face with his endless love. He brought so much joy, laughter, and unconditional love into our lives. Our home and our hearts will never be quite the same without him. Thank you, Floyd, for every every kiss, every cuddle and tail nub wag, and every beautiful memory. You were the very best boy, and we will love and miss you forever.

Tell us about Floyd: My husband and I rescued Floyd 12 years ago when we moved into our new home. I was always fond of the movie Say Anything and really liked the fun-loving popular lead character, Lloyd Dobler, so I though Lloyd would be a great name for a dog. My husband thought Floyd would be a better fit for the newest addition to our family, so we compromised and that became his name. Floyd loved being chased around the house and his familiar routine was to eat his dinner, then run to the living room and pick out a toy. He was never very good at playing fetch. Instead, he wanted us to chase him around the house and play tug a war with his toy. Floyd loved carrots, cucumbers, bacon, belly rubs, going on 5K runs and any outdoors hikes. Skokie Lagoons was his favorite walking path. We miss him so much and he brought so much joy to our lives. We miss him.
