Message to Boo: In the middle of the night, our other pup Sassy wasn't feeling so well. So we let her outside and after some time she made a strange sound and when I looked out our front door, she was near the steps but somewhat cornered by a coyote and another from behind. Boo wiggled himself off the couch and came to the door. He would have broke it down if he could.. I opened the door and he barked and ran out 4 coyotes that were surrounding Sassy from different distances and angles. He saved her life and he ran out every coyote he could until last days ❤
Tell us about Boo: Boo was presented to us by a rescue group in Maryland as a setter mix. We had recently lost or beloved Gordon Setter Xennie to old age and Boo seemed like a good fit! We met him and he sat down and handed us his big paw 🐾. He was recovering at a farm from parvo after 3 weeks of being in a hospital. We took him home, he had thin hair and still needed some vet care. He was around 50 pounds and we were told he wouldn't grow anymore, just fill out a little. After a few months he slowly weened off his medications and he began to toss his big paw on the food container... He began to grow and coat start to grow out long on his tail and around his neck. He started to hold his long tail up high. He was eating between 7-9 cups of food a day! He started getting bigger...and bigger. He finally went to our vet (we lived in Virginia) and I told him that he was a new rescue setter mix... and the vet looked at me and laughed... and laughed..That is NOT a setter mix... You have a mountain dog on your hands! He continued to grow and filled out to about 120 pounds! He would also seek high ground on the kids play equipment and scan and patrol the yard! He wanted to be outside at night and would get a burst of energy at 11pm-- looking for foxes in VA and coyotes in IL! He loved his treats, any food theiving he could get away with, was skeptical of Halloween decorations and loved the kids to bits. The biggest, gentlest giant our hearts could love. We always kept his rescue name because he was so big and so quiet with those big paw pads that he would sneak up and be right there without you ever noticing! He was the best and were honing to miss him tremendously ❤
