Message to Annabelle: Sad to see you leave us; grateful for what you gave us. Rest in peace, Annabelle.
Tell us about Annabelle: Not sure who rescued who, but we got our Annabelle from a rescue shelter in 2012. She was one of seven in her litter. We knew she was for us when she just sat quietly in her pen and then fell asleep in my lap. She was the kid’s first dog and quickly still our hearts. In 2017 she became a big sister to Frank and ruled the house despite his larger size. “AB” as she became in the family text, loved a good round of fetch, chase and playing in the sprinkler. If you came home through the alley and through the gate, she liked to lie low in the grass and “pounce” when you least expected it. Her walks were more like long strolls filled with endless sniffing and marking her turf - it was a good reminder to relax and take in the day. She stayed strong to the end, never letting Frank forget who ran the house.
We are grateful for A Gentle Goodbye and Dr Libby. They made every step easy for us, never rushing us. I can’t say enough about the in-home experience, as well. Seeing AB leave us in peace was what we needed.
